Over 50 Years of Promoting Global Citizenship

The Vermont Council on World Affairs (VCWA) was founded in 1952 by U.S. Senator Warren R. Austin and a group of other distinguished Vermonters. The VCWA is affiliated with the national association of World Affairs Councils, the largest international affairs non-profit in the United States. The non-partisan organization boasts over 400 thousand participants across the country working to foster grass-roots foreign policy dialogue.

Supporting organizations include:

  • Academic institutions such as the University of Vermont, Champlain College, Middlebury College, and Saint Michael's College (where the Council is presently located at the School of International Studies)

  • Government and business entities such as the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, the town of Colchester, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, and A.N. Deringer, Inc.

"As a Vermont-based company specializing in international trade services, we decided to join VCWA because it brings us good business connections and keeps us aware of global issues that impact our work," ~ Tito Rodriguez, Vice-president of Marketing, A.N. Deringer, Inc.
