I was called upon to critique the website for this client and make some recommendations as to how it might be improved. The original site had been left in the hands of a local college student to produce free of charge. Unfortunately, the client got the proverbial job that they paid for. After providing some feedback about why I felt that the student that had produced the initial site should not have received much beyond a barely passing grade I was tasked with getting the site at least up to being basically presentable. This particular client had a very limited budget to work with and wished to focus simply on correction and cleanup as well as the creation of a page for an up and coming promotion important to the organization. Given these constraints I drafted a short proposal for an initial revision of the site to include the new content. Initially I attempted to salvage as much of the code as I could, but I quickly found that it would be more expedient to tear it down and rewrite it from scratch using the existing design and structure as much as I was able.
