Peter
Hartshorn's
Musings
Welcome!
This is the initial iteration of my (Peter Hartshorn’s) website, a combination development playground,
self-marketing tool and repository of my ramblings and ravings. This site, being more of a personal expression as opposed
to a traditional and “correctly” designed and formatted work, is likely to defy some conventional wisdom and taste here and there.
So please be patient.
In here you will encounter a sampling of some of the things that I find interesting, appealing or curious.
You will also have the exciting opportunity to have some direct insight into my current vocation; i.e. website development. Please be aware that this is still (and will likely always be) a true work in progress. There are still a handful of pages/sections that have yet to be completed while others may change at a moment’s notice. In the meantime please feel free to poke around the site and, of course, feedback is always welcome!
Although I am still what I consider to be fairly nascent in the web development phase of my professional career (I have only been working in this particular arena for a few years now) I have been involved in the world of IT/IS for much of my life. I have run the gamut from PC tweaking geek to high-level network engineer to IT business solutions consultant.
Throughout my evolving career in IT I have gained an appreciation for structure and standardization. With the desire to conform and organize I have also picked up the wisdom to know when and how to break the rules. I believe that a thorough understanding of the first balanced with the careful application of the second set of principals is what leads to high quality, creative and successful website creation.
